Chinese Classes
We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.
We offer Chinese immersion language programmes for students from Pre-k to K12. Classes are divided into small groups based on age and language base. Students will develop the four core language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing through activities, music, songs, stories, and games, and they will apply and reinforce their language learning through fun activities and projects.
In the Chinese immersion classroom, we will use project-based learning and inquiry-based learning to guide students to explore diverse topics such as Chinese music, art, food, history, festivals and customs, pop culture, social issues, and the latest news. Students of all ages are encouraged to ask challenging and hypothetical questions and to experience the learning process of inquiry, action and reflection.
We are committed to the 5c's of language learning: communication, culture, connection, comparison and community.
Fairfax County students in grades 7-12 have the option of taking the Middle School Placement Test every year. The exam is based on a writing and speaking assessment, and students who take it can earn up to 3 credits. We offer this test to help prepare students who plan to take it for credit. Since the test was first administered in 2016, we have been helping students prepare for it, and our years of experience have helped many students successfully receive credit. The students' works have been frequently published in the New World newspaper, which has greatly enhanced their confidence in writing and their interest in learning Chinese.
We keep our classes small to ensure personalized attention, and our course is designed to be ready for enrollment with a focus on practicing Chinese writing. We can help students prepare for the following:
· Developing ideas and writing techniques for essays
· Exercises in expanding vocabulary, sentences, and paragraphs
· Practicing writing essays, revising them, and explaining them
· Professional tutoring by experienced teachers
· Individualized learning plans based on each student's needs
· Regular feedback on learning outcomes and timely adjustments to the course schedule based on each student's progress.
Adult Chinese Course Introduction
Our Chinese courses are designed to meet the needs of adult learners and help them achieve their language learning goals. Whether you are a beginner or already have some Chinese foundation, we offer courses at multiple levels, from elementary to advanced, with the aim of helping students become fluent Chinese speakers rapidly.
We employ a direct teaching method, emphasizing practical application of vocabulary and grammar for rapid and effective language acquisition. The classroom atmosphere is friendly and motivating, encouraging active student participation, and our teachers are readily available to answer questions and provide personalized assistance.
AP Chinese course tutoring mainly improves candidates' Chinese language skills in four areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as their understanding of Chinese culture. According to the actual Chinese language level of the candidates and the AP exam syllabus, we choose the appropriate AP teaching materials and help the candidates to make a personalized study plan.
Help candidates construct a comprehensive knowledge system, master systematic knowledge of the AP Chinese exam, design tutoring courses based on candidates' strengths and weaknesses to help candidates excel in the AP Chinese exam, and do the corresponding course practice to help students can better understand the learning content.
