Accompanying with Heart: Sparking Children's Interest in Learning through Play
Every child is born a little "player." They love games and are more eager to explore and learn in a joyful atmosphere. As companions in their growth, we design engaging and fun learning activities, capturing their points of interest and helping them "learn by doing" and "learn by playing," making the process of learning light-hearted and enjoyable.
This past week, we introduced a special activity: recognizing Chinese characters using stamps. Each time a child completed a character-learning task, they earned a stamp. As their stamp collection grew, so did their sense of achievement. Each stamp became a token of their hard work. We also encouraged the children to categorize or decorate their "Character Growth Albums" with these stamps. This process not only sparked their creativity but also made reviewing characters an exciting and anticipated activity.
To our delight, the stamp game greatly boosted the children's enthusiasm. What began as simple curiosity turned into proactive exploration and repeated practice. Their interest in Chinese characters grew deeper, and their motivation to learn became stronger. This transformation from "liking" to "initiating" is the greatest reward in our journey of accompanying them.
In the future, we will continue to create activities that align with children's interests, encouraging them to discover the joy of learning through play and to feel the pride of growth through their accomplishments. Accompaniment is the warmest form of education. We believe that with heartfelt guidance and encouragement, children can walk their learning journey with greater confidence and happiness.
